Noël s’en vient à nous SATB a capella
Music by Réjean Marois, on the poem « Le Noël de Fagus »,Georges-Eugène Faillet (1872-1933). If G.-E. Faillet is quite unremembered today, his « Noël » songs still remain present in the collective memory. This poem is a short version of « Noël des enfants sages » (1924). It was also published as « Noël des petits innocents ». The earlier versions did refer to the biblical narrative: The Massacre of the Innocents. This shorter version took out (almost) all passages related to religion and violence. Here, the text conveys more the naive « allégresse » of the child and the desire to hurry the arrival of the Magic Day.

D’après les mots du roi Solomon dans le Livre de l’Ecclésiaste, cette composition pour choeur a cappella est accessible à tous les niveaux. L’écriture se situe entre les sonorités intéressantes du jazz vocal et une certaine conformité du style chorale classique.
