Cap Jazz Series
It’s with great pleasure to share with you this selection of recordings of over sixteen years of concerts with the Capilano Jazz Studies’ students. The Cap Jazz Series is an annual series featuring world renouned jazz artists that represent both traditional and contemporary styles. A growing number of performances have showcased jazz from different cultures such as Latin and African. A highlight of the series is performances pairing a guest artist with our premier Jazz Studies student ensembles – “A” Band and NiteCap. As the director of NiteCap and for some years, the A Band, I have been writing most of the vocal arrangements and some for the A Band. I want to thank sincerely Lawrence Wu, director of technical production, he produced these recordings; and Fiona Black, director of programming; and, of course, all the wonderful musicians.
